Escazu defeated ARBA in the Finals opener. The former international guard Daniel Shedden (190-96, college: MSUB) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward David Shedden (197-95) chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four Escazu players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard Isaac Conejo (182-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Deon Lynch (-95) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. ARBA's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
